Steriltom is a family-owned company that has been operating in the tomato processing market since 1934, for 4 generations.
The bond between the Squeri family and the tomato began in 1934 when Giuseppe Dario Squeri started the industrial production of tomato products (peeled and concentrated) in Ciriano (Piacenza, Italy).
In 1968 Carlo Squeri, the son of Giuseppe Dario, realized the importance of providing added value to the customer, offering the market ready-to-use products. He then created the first "pulper machine" and began the production of Tomato Pulp, becoming specialized in this product typology. In 1992, with the acquisition of the current production plant in Casaliggio (Piacenza, Italy), Steriltom becomes the first worldwide company totally specialized in the production of tomato pulp with 15 production lines dedicated to this product for the food service and the industrial packaging. In the same year, Steriltom was also the first worldwide company introducing the "bag in box" as a new packaging for tomato derivatives.
Over the past 25 years, the market of tomato pulp significantly increased thanks to the fact that, besides being a fresh product, it is also ready to use, bringing customers to save time during cooking preparations. Moreover, compared to the peeled tomatoes, it has also the possibility to be sold in "bag in box". Bag in box is substituting the cans all over the world thanks to its advantages in terms of: safety, ease-of-use, disposal and price.
Currently the company is present in 77 countries worldwide, has over 700 customers and has a production capacity of 230,000 tons/year of fresh processed tomato.
